I am an associate Professor at the the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi in Kenya. She holds a B.A. in Economics (First Class Honours), M.A. (Economics) from the University of Nairobi, and PhD. in Agricultural Economics from University of Giessen in Germany. Her area of research is Development Economics, focusing on agriculture and rural development, employment and gender aspects of labour market participation, agro-industry linkages and value chains and finance for development. She has coordinated to successful completion, major collaborative research projects and has conducted research within the East and Southern Africa regions.
