Sandra Abegglen is Researcher at the University of Calgary (Canada). Her research interests are in digital education, academic literacies, peer mentoring, creative learning and teaching methods, inclusion, visual narratives, identity, and qualitative methods. She has written about her research and teaching practice in a variety of journals. She has also published three books and several book chapters. Sandra has a background in education, social science, social work and nursing enabling her to work multi- and inter-disciplinary. She has been awarded the Team Teaching Award 2020 by the University of Calgary, Canada. She is a certified practitioner in learning development by the Association for Learning Development in Higher Education (UK); a Higher Education Academy (UK) fellow; a Scientific Committee Member for the International Conference on Mentoring in Teacher education and Professional Training ICM; a Board member for the International Conference on Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology ICEMST; and a Steering Committee member of the Teaching Academy, Taylor Institute for Learning and Teaching, University of Calgary. Olivier Boiron is Professor in fluid mechanics at Centrale Marseille, a french public higher education institution specialized in engineering. He is, since 2014, the UNESCO Unitwin 651 chairholder for "Innovation for sustainable development". As the executive director of the Mediterranean network of engineering schools and faculties (RMEI) he is involved in many programs and activities related to the quality of engineering education, student international mobility, student employability, sustainable development and more recently air quality in urban areas. Holly Mayton currently serves as the American Institute of Physics Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the U.S. Department of State's Office of Agricultural Policy. Holly received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2014 and her Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering with a Designated Emphasis in Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside in 2018. While at UCR, Holly founded the Science to Policy program, contributed to several California state advisory committees, and worked for the California Council on Science and Technology. Broadly, Holly is passionate about connecting food and water systems science to policy and advocacy outcomes. To that end, she received a Research and Innovation for Agriculture Fellowship to pursue food systems and data-driven policy research in Hanoi, Vietnam as a graduate student. Recently, Holly has served as founding co-Director of the National Science Policy Network and Coordinator for the inaugural Commonwealth of Virginia Engineering and Science Policy Fellowship.
