People of African Descent & the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
This brief was circulated and commended for its contribution to discussion at the Annual Meeting of ENAR Steering Group on Afro-phobia, held in Brussels, Belgium in October 2017. It was subsequently circulated at the UN OHCHR's Regional Meeting for Europe, Central Asia, and North America on the International Decade for People of African Descent held in November 2017, and may be found in the documents listed in the meeting's website
http://www.ohchr.org/EN/Issues/Racism/InternationalDecade/Pages/RegionalMeetingEuropeCentralAsiaNorthAmerica2017.aspx.
I discuss links between SDGs and IDPAD's thematic objectives of recognition, justice, and development, in relation to empirical findings of my doctoral research study, draft conclusions, and recommendations of the 20th Session of the UN WGEPAD.
