Hands on! Experience new learning and the implications for teaching

Presented by Olga Doornbos, Leonie de Quelerij &Aafien Pieters from Hogeschool Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands

Dutch society has changed a lot in recent years. The transition of society from a Welfare State to a participative community requires also a new type of professional Social Worker. The future social worker needs to be self-governing, creative, critical, enterprising but also reflective. This demands a new perception about education and learning.

In the new school of Social Work at Hogeschool Windesheim we educate a new futureproof professional by adopting the perspective on learning and education intervined with concepts of inspiring teaching, 21th century skills and blended learning.
In this workshop we like you to experience how we manage to translate these themes to concrete education and what the implications are, viewed from the perspective of the teacher&researcher.
