What are the some of the most pressing challenges in affording climate justice? Are there any cases or examples for the same?
The IPCC report, “Global Warming of 1.5°C” states that limiting global warming to 1.5°C instead of 2°C could lead to a more sustainable outcome. What does this mean in practical terms and, how and to what extent would this be beneficial to ensure reductions in inequalities and a more equitable society?
How could one assess the current knowledge on the interlinkages between inequalities and climate change drivers and impacts? What is the level of integration between the two scientific research fields?
Marginalized groups, such as women and children, particularly from certain regions, are argued to be at a particular disadvantage in relation to the inequitable effects of climate change. How are these groups affected by existing practices and policies? What can be done to reverse this? Are there any cases or examples?
Climate change is a pressing global concern across nations and sectors, but the burden of the consequences is borne unequally. How do socio-economic inequalities intersect with the effects of climate change?
