Writing Peace actually contributes to the acquisition of intercultural competences by young people. It puts into practice intercultural dialogue and contributes to the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022) let by UNESCO at the UN system level.

Coordinated by Amina Hamshari at the Intercultural Dialogue section headed by Ann-Belinda Preis, Chief of Section, Social and Human Sciences Sector, UNESCO Headquarters.

Writing Peace was initiated through the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Programme for a Culture of Peace and Dialogue funded by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
