Adi Renaldi


Adi Renaldi is an Indonesian journalist who has been covering terrorism and religious extremism since 2013. He worked for Jakarta-based Concord Review, an online news platform, before joining VICE Asia in September 2016. His beats range from politics, LGBTQ issues, to environment. As staff writer at VICE Indonesia, Mr. Renaldi focuses on terrorism, environment, socio-politics, and culture. In 2017, he was part of the VICE News video team that covered the Islamic boarding school in North Sumatra that focuses on deradicalizing children of convicted terrorists. The video aired on HBO sometime in December 2017. He is currently working on a video project for VICE that investigates how Indonesian fishermen \risk their lives working on dangerous waters bordering the Philippines. In 2018, as a fellow of the Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) 2018 Journalism Fellowship Program, he investigated how Indonesian presidential candidates employ cyber troops to sway public opinion.
