Robert currently works as the Global Safety Programme (GSP) manager for the International Media Support (IMS) based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a safety specialist with 15 years experience supporting journalists under fire in Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa managing projects and specialised preventative and reactive mechanisms including safety trainings for media houses and negotiating with state and military forces to promote safety within the industry.

 

He is an Irish former investigative journalist with extensive experience working on conflict, intelligence and humanitarian beats, with a focus on Latin America. He has reported on natural disasters in Haiti, FARC and paramilitary operations in Colombia and organized crime networks in Nicaragua and Honduras.
