Laeila Adjovi

Photographer and visual artist

Laeïla Adjovi is a Beninese and French national. She grew up in Gabon and South Africa, then studied political sciences and journalism in France before living in India, and New Caledonia. In 2010, she moves back to the continent where she grew up to work for the BBC. Reporter, self-taught photographer and visual artist, she started with documentary photography and photojournalism. Her favorite themes relate to social issues, daily life on the continent or the African cultural heritage. Fond of processing techniques and film photography, she also experiments a lot in her darkroom. 
 
These past few years, she has exhibited her work in France, Senegal, Ethiopia, Morocco, Benin and South Africa.
