Justice William Atuguba

Justice in the Supreme Court of Ghana

Currently the most senior judge in the Supreme Court of Ghana, Justice William Atuguba, first enrolled as a magistrate in 1974 and subsequently served the judiciary of Ghana in the capacities of a prosecutor and state attorney before being appointed to the Supreme Court in 1995. He has been the Acting Chief Justice for the Ghanaian Judiciary at multiple junctures. Justice Atuguba has served in numerous committees in multiple capacities, convened to enable the progression of the legal profession in the country, including the Board of Legal Education, the Legal Council of Ghana, the Legal Aid Board, and the Upper Region Investigations Committee, among many others. He has provided long-standing contributions in furthering the scope of judicial institutions in Ghana.
