World Press Freedom Day 2018

George Sarpong is the Executive Secretary of Ghana’s National Media Commission which oversees a vibrant media sector with more than 300 radio stations, 25 television channels and numerous publications and is also responsible for the appointment of Chief Executives and Board of Directors of the state-owned media including the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Graphic Communications Group, the Ghana News Agency and the Ghanaian Times. He is a seasoned regulator with experience in regulating broadcasting, telecommunications and print media.
