World Press Freedom Day 2018

Daniel Blank, PhD, is a media development and communications professional. Since 2016 Daniel works as DW Akademie’s Head of Office in Ghana. For 10 years he has been Dy Managing Director, Head of Marketing and Country Representative in China for a privately owned German Business Intelligence Publisher. In 2012 Daniel joined DW where he ran of a global communications campaign that was fully funded by Germany’s Federal Foreign Office. At the same time he worked as a consultant and trainer for DW Akademie in countries such as Libya, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Togo, Ghana and South Africa. Daniel has a particular interest in the financial survival of media houses that maintain the fundamental freedom of expression in conflict, post-conflict and other media-restricted environments.
