Citra Dyah Prastuti is the chief editor of KBR, Indonesia’s first and only independent radio news agency, broadcasting to over 500 local radio stations across the archipelago. KBR is now brewing Indonesia’s first audio news-on-demand app. Citra is currently a board member of Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI). With over 15 years of experience as journalist, Citra shows a strong interest in human rights issues and involved in many important coverage in Indonesia. She was sent to Aceh when the Indonesian government launched military operation in 2003 to cover the conflict first-hand. Citra took a short break in 2005 to pursue her Master’s degree in Critical Media and Cultural Studies at SOAS, University of London, with Chevening scholarship. In 2011, Citra received a fellowship from ABC’s Radio National to produce indepth story of “Eros, Mother of 25 Children”, followed with a production of a one-hour radio documentary of “Timor’s Lost Generation”. In 2018, she was awarded with Oktavianus Pogau Award from Pantau Foundation for bravery in journalism.
