World Press Freedom Day 2018

Carl Manlan, a Project Syndicate contributor, is an economist and Chief Operating Officer of the Ecobank Foundation. He has worked with communities across Africa and developed systems to improve public health financing, mainly at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Previously, Carl worked with the Economic Commission for Africa as a Mo Ibrahim Fellow and with the African Union and New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD) on a private sector initiative to assist the African Union fight against Ebola.
