World Press Freedom Day 2018

Ms. Ayaa is a dynamic female journalist passionate about freedom of expression, the rights of journalists and an imminent advocate for free press, freedom of expression and access to information. She is a graduate of Mass Communication and Mass Communication.

Ms. Ayaa currently work as a Media Development Officer for the Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS), she was formerly a freelance journalist for mainly print media, she also worked in different organizations including, Society for Ladies and Girls Empower Efforts (SLAGE), Alliance International, and worked on a short term consultancy for The World Bank Initiative as a Media Expert on South Sudan.

She is an expert on Media and Gender, train and mentor journalists in three different media outlets in South Sudan on gender sensitive reporting.

 She is a member of South Sudan Media Authority and a Former Secretary of Media-Security Dialogue of South Sudan. 

She also worked on a short term consultancy as a Media Expert for The World Bank Initiative, and as a Gender Media Trainer for Journalists for Human Rights (JHR).
