World Press Freedom Day 2018

Adriana Hurtado Cortés is President of the Federation of Colombian Journalists, a grouping of 1200 journalists from all regions of Colombia defending press freedom and the right to information. She is also vice-president of the Federation of Journalists of Latin America and the Caribbean.

A journalist and social communicators she is an international speaker on freedom of expression issues and is involved in developing public policy on media in Colombia and the collective reparation for journalists following the armed conflict. She is the author of a book about the threats and harm done to journalism - particularly investigative journalism - as a result of the conflict.
