World Press Freedom Day 2017

Ryan Rosauro is the chair of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines. He covers stories of the southern Philippines with a special interest in the long running peace process between the government and the Moro rebels in Mindanao. For the last eight years, he has been a member of the NUJP National Directorate and led its research and education commission for two terms prior to being elected chair of its executive committee. Rosauro also led the design and pilot testing of a media risk assessment tool which was developed based on a rapid study of select Mindanao localities and cases of attacks on journalists. He also acts as a trainer in peace and conflict reporting.
