World Press Freedom Day 2017

Mr Pa Nguon Teang is the founder and executive director of Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM), which was established in June 2007. CCIM is a leading local independent media working on the promotion of free media environment, access to information, and freedom of expression. With these objectives, CCIM is running the multi-media program Voice of Democracy - radio, online news, and online TV- training youths and community people as citizen journalists, networking provincial radio stations to promote freedom of expression, and advocating for digital rights and a law on access to information. Before Mr Teang founded CCIM, he was the deputy president of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) from November 2002 to June 2007, which he also co-founded.
