Ng Swan Ti

Photographer and Programme Manager, Pannafoto Institute

Ng Swan Ti started her career as a photojournalist in 2002, after working nine-to-five for ten years at a food company. In 2002, she took part in a photography workshop held by World Press Photo Foundation and “i see” (Imaging Center) in Jakarta, and the following year she participated in a photography forum held by Asia-Europe Foundation and World Press Photo in Amsterdam.
Her works have been published in local and international publications. Nowadays, she has divided her time between taking photographs and initiating various educational photography activities through PannaFoto Institute. Her photography works on self-religious exploration were exhibited in Noorderlicht Photo Festival (2006), Jakarta Biennale (2015), and DongGang International Photo Festival (2016). Along with other photography practitioners, she was one of the selection committee of the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in 2016.
She has published her first photo book “Illusion”, which was launched in 2014. She is now based in Jakarta and she believes that photography gives a reason to knock on closed doors and be part of what is happening inside.
