World Press Freedom Day 2017

Mr Josep Adi Prasetiyo, usually called ‘Stanley’, is Chairman of the Press Council of Indonesia for period of 2016-2019. He was born in Malang-Indonesia on June 20, 1959. Mr Prasetiyo has long experience in journalism as a reporter, editor, and as one of founder of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) in Indonesia. He was former Vice Chairman of the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM). Academically, he graduated from Christian University of Satya Wacana in Salatiga-Indonesia in electrical engineering from the faculty of engineering. Being a holder of mediator certificate became an advantage for him in his works with Press Council of Indonesia. Writing and editing journalism books is his passion.
