World Press Freedom Day 2017

Jake Lucchi is the Head of Online Safety, Content and Social Impact for the Asia Pacific Region at Google and is based in Hong Kong. As part of this role, he leads Google's work on countering extremism, hate and intolerance through counternarratives and education, as well as all issues related to free expression. Originally from the US, he has lived in Asia full time since 2010. Prior to his role at Google, he worked on public policy issues for the UN and several NGOs/thinktanks in the region. Jake holds a juris doctorate (law) from Yale University and a BA, s umma cum laude in politics and philosophy from the University of Missouri.
