World Press Freedom Day 2017

Dennis Reineck is a project manager at DW Akademie, section research and evaluations. He conducts studies and evaluations in developing countries. His fields of interest include Media and Information Literacy (MIL), audience studies, research on the quality of journalism and empirical methods. A discussion paper, co-authored with Jan Lublinski on a human rights-based approach to Media and Information Literacy in developing countries, was published in 2015. An MIL test developed by Reineck was successfully employed in the Palestinian Territories. A further test is scheduled to take place in Rwanda. Reineck’s forthcoming PhD thesis deals with young media users’ assessment of journalistic quality.
