World Press Freedom Day 2017

Ms Adama Lee Bah, currently a student at the New York Institute of Technology, is a renowned young Gambian social activist and feminist. Among others, Ms Lee Bah held the position as Head of the UNESCO Global Alliance for Media and Information Literacy Youth Committee and Youth representative at the Global Alliance for Media and Information Literacy Steering Committee. She served as President of Young People in the Media (Gambia) and was able to attract a lot of young people through her radio shows. She hosted a youth radio talk show called YPM hour, aired every Sunday on Unique FM. The talk show addresses a broad range of issues affecting the plight and wellbeing of young people, including freedom of expression and the critical role of citizen journalism.
