Poni Alice JameKolok
Radio and TV Journalist (South Sudan)
Ms Poni Alice JameKolok was born in South Sudan, but grew up in Uganda where she attended primary/secondary schools, and where she acquired a diploma in journalism. Returning to South Sudan, she worked in 2012 as an intern with Radio Miraya, the UN-sponsored broadcasting agency as news and programme reporter. Subsequently Ms JameKolok joined Equator Broadcasting Corporation where she has been a news reporter covering special features such as Girls’ Education linked to international development agencies. She has also worked as a freelance journalist, producing short documentaries on women’s organisations for peace and reconciliation, traditional arts and fashion, and human rights activists. In addition to building her experience as a news reporter and documentary producer, Ms JameKolok is working on completing her Bachelor’s degree in journalism through part-time study with a Ugandan university.
