World Press Freedom Day 2016

Mircea Barbu is a Romanian journalist covering foreign affairs, conflict zones and human rights. He was the first journalist in Romania to report on the refugee crisis last year for Adevarul newspaper, the largest publication in the country, as well as the only one that interviewed Romanian volunteer fighters in Syria. Mr Barbu has worked on a number of stories from Syria, Iraq, Ukraine and Transnistria, reporting on organized crime, corruption and human rights violations.
