Middle East Correspondent, International Business Times (United States of America)

Erin is a Middle East correspondent for the International Business Times. For the past two years, Erin has reported on the rise of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria and how the war has impacted ordinary people. She spent several months following children fleeing war to Europe as they tried to find new homes in orphanages. This year she is focusing on oil in Iraq and reporting on how corruption lead to the downfall of the local economy.

Erin went to IBT after having worked as a freelancer overseas in Turkey and Cairo. She received her bachelor's degree in Arabic and journalism from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011 and her master's from Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs where she concentrated in human rights and international media.
