Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah

High Commissioner of Ghana to the Republic of Namibia

Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah is currently Ghana’s High Commissioner to Namibia with concurrent accreditation to Botswana. For many years he has been an editor and publisher and served as a Board Member of a number of national institutions, including the National Commission on Culture (NCC), responsible for formulating and implementing Ghana’s cultural policies; Ghana News Agency, Ghana’s premier news gathering and dissemination agency; and New Times Corporation, publishers of the Ghanaian Times and Spectator. Mr Attah also Served as a resource person on updating of guidelines for journalists on “Fair and Equitable Reporting” for Ghana’s Media Commission and National Commission on Civic Education in the period leading to Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in 2012.

A major highlight of Mr. Attah’s professional career is a sub-regional (West Africa) conference on “Conflict and Religion” which was organized and co-hosted by the Goethe Institut, Accra, with the Accra Mail newspaper in 2003. For his contribution to media development in Ghana he was awarded the Order of Volta (MOV).
