“Silk Road and Kharakhorum”: A Scientific Conference

On 18 July 2017, the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations (IISNC) will host an International Scientific Conference entitled “Silk Road and Kharakhorum” in Kharakorum (Karakorum), Mongolia. This conference will provide an opportunity to review some twenty academic papers on ancient cultural heritage of the nomadic peoples of Mongolia and their connection to the Silk Roads.

This event is being organized by the IISNC with the support of the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, the Management Office of World Heritage–Orkhon Valley Landscape, and the Erdene Zuu Buddhist monastery.

This event will be one among several other events which will take place as part of an event titled “SILKROAD–KHARKHORUM” which aims to safeguard historical and cultural heritage and promote local tourism.
