The Award Ceremony was organized in Beijing, China, on the occasion of International Peace Day (21 September), and in collaboration with the China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) who provided support for the contest. The day began with the releasing of Peace Doves, followed by the official Opening Ceremony of the Peace Garden Festival that successfully brought together more than 400 participants.  The Award Ceremony activities gathered together the winners and members of the Selection Committee, representatives of some of the participating countries, youth associations, and communities, culminating in a memorable group photograph and banquet.

The day’s festivities included speeches by the Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation (BIPCF), and UNESCO representatives, amongst others. The Award Ceremony also welcomed exciting multi-media performances by young artists, and a Panel Discussion entitled, “Youth’s Visions on the Silk Roads”,  that allowed young people to share their views, and discuss ways in which to increase involvement in the Silk Roads.

Furthermore, the award-winning Photo Exhibition was presented for the first time. Consisting of the winners’ photographs, as well as those that best represented the spirit of the international competition, these photographs are to be published in a professionally bound collection of images, that will be distributed worldwide and displayed in a traveling exhibition. This will help raise young people's awareness of their shared history and values, increase their engagement in important current events, and encourage them to participate in future Silk Roads activities.
