UNESCO organized a workshop in the Democratic Republic of Congo on the use of mobile telephones for interviewing and reporting by correspondents.  The workshop “Understanding the mobile phone and its features” trained 60 participants (40 correspondents) from 4 local radio stations from 19 to 21 December 2013. It was held at the radio station RCM Moanda.

By the end of the workshop, participants had increased knowledge about: how to conduct interviews by using mobile phone and managing audio recordings; how to take pictures for the press; how to report from the field using mobile phones; and how to interact and send the sound files to radio stations. The theory was complemented by  practical, hands-on exercises to fully understand and apply the functionalities of mobile phones.
