A workshop on the use of the Internet to report on matters related to the environment, health, agriculture and education was carried out from 19 to 21 December 2012 to 65 participants from four radio stations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including journalists, presenters, correspondents and volunteers. The training focused on using the Internet to report on matters related to these areas, on the role of the correspondents and lastly on the interaction of correspondents through information and communication technologies.

This activity included the development of training modules covering: introduction to Internet; Internet and radio production; Internet and broadcasting on agriculture, environment, health and education of citizens.

It was encouraged to use and achieve ownership of ICT applications by radio staff for their full involvement in communicating for a sustainable development. The training adapted its content and methodology to the needs of its trainees, since the majority had never used a computer before.

The training started with an introduction of the Internet, the following day dedicated to the presentation of various information technologies to improve the radio work, and the last day was dedicated to Internet for broadcasting matters related to environment, health and agriculture.
