Throughout six days, all 17 (10 male and 7 female) staff and board members from Sauti FM attended capacity building workshops held by local trainers Mme Mary Casiraghi and Mr Fred Awino. They were introduced to the fundamentals of business and entrepreneurship, income generation and fundraising methods, how to analyze the donor market, use marketing and communication strategies and, nevertheless, avoid common business mistakes.

The trainers suggested alternatives to look for different income sources, strengthening the financial sustainability of the local radio station. They emphasized the importance of business plans, financial planning and management. Participants appreciated the training which included both theoretical and hands-on exercises. They recognized having learnt useful concepts and skills that will be applied at their routines at the local radio station.
