Second phase (2015-2018)

Dodoma FM 98.4 is a community radio broadcasting station and its mission is to enrich people’s lives with programmes that inform, educate and entertain. Its vision is to promote economic stability, good governance, resilience and a sense of community beyond the walls of the radio station.

The station is located in the town of Dodoma, Tanzania. Dodoma FM covers all the seven districts of Dodoma region: Dodoma Mjini, Chemba, Bahi, Kondoa, Mpwapwa, Chamwino and Kongwa. Other regions that are also covered include: Kilindi-Tanga, Gairo- Morogoro Manyoni-Singida, Kiteto-Manyara, Mtera-Iringa and Tabora- Tabora Vijijini.

The staff is composed of 9 female and 8 male part-time employees and 2 female and 5 male permanent employees – with a total of 24 workers. Dodoma FM started to broadcast in 2010. It has since recorded a progressive growth in the listenership and the engagement with locals through its programs that are entirely produced based on people's needs.

Dodoma FM is promoting community development by providing a forum for discussion of local issues. The station has become central to the cultural life of its community. It is a place where local musicians and writers can present their work and support education on behalf of the community.
