RadCom is an app that offers live streaming of community radios around the world.
It was develop by the Brazilian researcher Arthur William, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and launched in late 2013 by AMARC.
The user can listen to any radio from their database and it is possible to suggest the incorporation of other radios which have live streaming online: rebaixada.org/radcom/app/radios/
Currently, there are radios from 17 countries, including Bush Radio from South Africa, which participate in UNESCO’s “Empowering Local Radios with ICTs” project.
Through the Internet, the contents produced by each radio can reach a wider audience and this can integrate community radios worldwide.
This digital platform is free and is currently available for iOS, Android and the web.
