Supporting Media Development in the context of democratic reforms and peace-building in Myanmar

Supporting Media Development in Myanmar enhances the capacity and professionalism of Myanmar journalists to report on the democratic reforms and peace-building initiatives. The project engages and trains journalists, Myanmar Civil Society Organizations, as well as government officials for greater transparency and access to information.

“I believe that from now on there will be better relations with media as the workshop equipped us with thorough media relations skills and guidelines in order to build a win-win relationship with the media."

-Assistant Director U Htay Aung of the Supreme Court of the Union

“In the training we had the chance to discuss new effective ways to cover news in the Parliament, learning from other countries’ experiences. I also gained a better understanding of the challenges that Members of Parliament and Parliament press office staff face in their relationship with the media.”

-Swan Ye Htut, Senior Reporter from Myanmar Times
