Video Campaign to Cope with COVID-19 in Bangladesh: #BeCreative to Promote Art
Like everywhere in the world, Bangladesh is part of the crisis. UNESCO Dhaka Office is fully aware of the need to activate all our potential including culture and art during this situation. We believe that culture and art are important tools to cope with this unprecedented situation. Artists and cultural professionals, in particular, can play an important role and contribute during this crisis period, as they are among the most vibrant, engaged, and outspoken members of society.
Within this context, the digital campaign #BeCreative was launched for artists and cultural professionals on UNESCO Dhaka Office’s website and Facebook to help the general public engage themselves creatively and have access to art and artists while staying home, during this critical period. These digital platforms (videos) display and share tips and practical hands-on demonstrations of simple and basic art and creative works by artists and cultural professionals that inspire and invite viewers to take them up, imitate them and ‘be creative’ from home.
Following the great success of the first phase of the #BeCreative campaign, UNESCO Dhaka Office launches the second phase of #BeCreative to invite the general public to join and share videos in which they can share tips and practical hands-on demonstrations of simple creative works and performances that inspire and invite viewers to take them up, imitate them and ‘be creative’ from home. The Videos will be posted in a moderated public Facebook group and we will select and re-post relevant videos on the UNESCO Official Facebook page as well as on the official UNESCO Dhaka Office website.
