Winners of the 2019 Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition


Over two thousand young aspiring entrepreneurs from all over the world joined the 2019 Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition with their creative and innovative ideas and projects to improve their communities and the lives of many people.

Co-organized by the Goi Peace Foundation (GAP Key Partner), Stiftung Entrepreneurship and Digital Experts United, the competition is a global programme and an online platform to mobilize youth-led innovations for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Winners of the 2019 competition were officially announced at the Entrepreneurship Summit in Berlin on 20 October 2019. Out of 879 pre-screened entries received from 109 countries covering all regions, the People’s Choice Prize in the Best Ideas Category was presented to medical student Kanokluck Thongkalya of Thailand for her „Futuristic Medical Care System,“ which is a fusion of medical principles and artificial intelligence (AI). The Grand Prize in this category went to Mohammed Naufal of Indonesia for his „Wastebender“ recycle-tech startup that strives to realize zero waste and sustainable consumption and production ecosystem in Indonesia through technology and smart data.

In the Best Project Category, the Grand Prize went to Kritin Vongthongsri of Thailand for his project „Eyesaver“ which is an eye-screening and testing kit designed for young people in Thailand to detect visual and prevent ocular disorders. „Eyesaver“’s mission is for every child in Thailand to get its eyes tested in schools. The People’s Choice Prize in this category went to Oluwatosin Adeosun of Nigeria for his project „Save Nigeria Technical Colleges“ designed to improve the quality of vocational education and training for students in Nigeria, in order for them to acquire the necessary skills required by employers and the domestic labor market.
