The Goi Peace Foundation, Key Partner of the GAP, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 International Essay Contest for Young People. The theme of this year's contest was CREATING A SOCIETY FULL OF KINDNESS. From among 20,657 entries from 157 countries, the following winners were selected:
Children's category: Maya Amaravathi Sarkar (Age 14, India) and Tomoya Yamamoto (Age 14, Japan)
Youth category: Anusha Pillay (Age 19, India) and Md Tawsif Rahman Chowdhury (Age 21, Bangladesh)

The First Prize winners presented their essays and received their awards from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan at a ceremony held at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo on 23 November 2019.
As 20th anniversary special edition, contest participants were asked to carry out ten acts of kindness and submit their actions together with their essays. This means over 200,000 acts of kindness were carried out throughout the world, directly contributing to a more compassionate world.
Guidelines for the upcoming 2020 International Essay Contest for Young People will be announced here at the end of January 2020.
