On 16 August, 2018, within the framework of the summer camp for active youth "Tugan Jer" on the basis of the "Lesnaya Skazka" resort hotel, the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty organized a training on the development of social projects planning skills.
75 young women and men with a big interest participated in the training and discussions related to the mastering of the new toolkit "UNESCO Project Planner". This toolkit is a convenient online application, which contains all the necessary information on the development of social projects.
UNESCO Project Planner covers all aspects of the project design and implementation, as well as sections on planning, budgeting, fund raising, implementation and coordination, communications and visibility and monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
It is important to note that this toolkit is available online on the free of charge basis and can be used by anyone.
At the end of the training, young people could use new skills to transform their own ideas into a project proposal for its further implementation. The participants also got acquainted with the basics of budgeting and attracting financial resources, putting out project implementation indicators for their monitoring and implementation, marketing principles and public relations during the project implementation, and the most importantly remembered key elements of reporting and evaluation of their project.
All the acquired knowledge and skills will help young people to participate more actively in the social and civic life of their city and to more confidently establish partnerships with various organizations.
