The three researchers that UNESCO recognized with their achievements are Fenet Belay, Teguadda Alebachew and Almaz Giziew (PhD).

The Ethiopia Science Week was organized by the Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MoSHE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (ECA) from November 5 – 13 November 2019.
