Within the framework of the UNESCO - MIL Alliance (GAPMIL*) Response to COVID-19 webinar series the UNESCO-GAPMIL webinar on "Media and Information Literacy & Quality Journalism" will be held on 18 June 2020, 8 pm Tashkent time.
Among the webinar's speakers are Ms Nozima Muratova, Vice-Rector of the Journalism&Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent; Ms Sheila Webber, Director of the Centre for Information Literacy Research at The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom; Ms Alice Lee, Professor at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong; Mr José Manuel Tornero, UNESCO Chair on MIL and Quality Journalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.
Why do we need quality journalism and professional journalists, especially in times of crisis? Why do we need media and information literacy? These and other questions will be raised by experts during the discussion.

Since April 2020, the GAPMIL community has been hosting free webinars on media and information literacy with the participation of MIL leaders across the globe. The webinars will be open to the general public, particularly youth, parents/guardians, and the aged.
