The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science for the Arab States in partnership with Egypt Japan University of science and technology (EJUST), are pleased to announce the launching of a Webinar Series on Inclusive and Integrated Management of Natural Hazards - Arab Region. The Webinar Series is organized in the context of the project “Urgent Interventions to Build Socio-Ecological Systems Resilience to Natural Hazards in MENA region” funded by the Government of Japan with an aim to provide the necessary instruments and tools to improve the readiness of local communities in urban, peri-urban and rural areas in natural and biological hazards risks management and to strengthen the social capital in risks prone areas in the MENA region.


What to expect?

The webinar series offers a range of insightful sessions falling under 4 thematic topics which will be presented by a number of regional and international experts from Egypt, Jordan, Japan, Lebanon, Sudan, France, and UK affiliated with universities and research centers, UN organizations, and regional organizations.

The sessions will present information on natural hazards and human wellbeing including a number of related topics tapping on ecological resilience, cultural aspects and traditional architecture, socio-economic impacts and urban planning and physical and mental health issues. You will know more about what goes behind the scenes and what are the challenges faced by decision makers, politicians and practitioners and what are the tools used and approaches adopted for addressing natural hazards risks to save the lives and properties of people.


Who can attend?

Our main aim is to trigger interest and spread awareness among professionals and practitioners from various backgrounds



The webinars are designed to reach out to a wide range of audience from different professional backgrounds using simplified scientific information and knowledge.

So if you are a Government Official, Engineer, Architect, Doctor, Researcher, Student or a professional working in the public or private sector or representative of non-governmental organizations or simply a citizen, you can still be able to attend as long as you want to acquire the KNOWLEDGE.

All you need to do is to select and register in the session you are interested in when receiving our invitations. The participation is free of charge.
