The first Technical Consultation on Global Citizenship Education is taking place in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 9 to 10 September 2013.
Experts, researchers, academics and practitioners from different regions of the world will attempt to clarify the concept of global citizenship education and debate the missing links in contemporary approaches as well as discuss priorities for actions to be undertaken at national and global levels.
The participants will also discuss measurement issues and identify enabling requirements for global citizenship education and share their experiences and practices.
A document summarizing the outcomes will be made available online after the consultation.
The Consultation is jointly organized by UNESCO with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) of the Republic of Korea.
