The Director-General of UNESCO pays tribute to Antoinette Fouque, women's rights activist

Irina Bokova praised Antoinette Fouque, a pioneer of the feminist movement, editor and essayist, co-founder of the Movement for the Liberation of Women, disappeared February 20, 2014.

“Antoinette Fouque remain one of the greatest voices of human rights of women. She also chose to wear the cause of equality through culture and the book, and we were side by side a few weeks ago to launch UNESCO's Universal Dictionary of creative women.

We lose an intellectual, an activist whose message was fully echo the mandate of UNESCO. Her death, a few days before the World Women's Day, March 8, is a keener to continue this fight" said the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova
