Bulgarian children display paintings at UNESCO
On 3 June, UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova inaugurated at headquarters an exhibition of paintings of Orthodox icons by children from two Bulgarian art studios, held under the motto “Let there be light”.
“It is always exciting to see the creativity and imagination of kids and the beauty that emerges from such initiatives”, said Irina Bokova.
“Our noble aim is to encourage the creative development of talented children by giving them opportunities depending on their skills and diligence, and to sponsor their education and vocational training”, the Director-General concluded.
Irina Bokova thanked the Permanent Delegation of Bulgaria to UNESCO and the “Spiritual mirrors” and “Sozopol” foundations for organizing and supporting the exhibition.
A performance by a Bulgarian folk dance ensemble made the event even more special.
