Eva Ottawa was appointed President of the Conseil du statut de la femme on September 8, 2016. She was a member of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse from April 2015 to September 2016. She was also a consultant in education governance. Eva Ottawa was elected Grand Chef de la Nation atikamekw in September 2006 and reelected in 2010. She was also a member of the Commission for the atikamekw constitution. Eva Ottawa has a bachelor degree in sociology (1996) and a bachelor degree in law (2002). She is also the recipiend of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).
