Crafting for change: building sustainable development through traditional savoir-faire

‘Crafting for Change’ is a project that supports the crafting practice in order to develop it in a sustainable way, not only among the communities that have inherited the savoir-faire but also among young design students. The initiative encourages the dialogue between the Design students of Sorbonne and marginalized populations in Argentina, with the aim of delivering marketable products by working together.

Peace Dialogue Campus Network: Fostering Positive Attitudes between Migrants and Youth in Hosting Societies

The project aims to foster a more peaceful generation in Europe and in Turkey that approaches migrants with positive attitudes to overcome prejudices, tackle discrimination and help social inclusion through intercultural communication. It will aim to achieve this objective via an international peace dialogue campus network of university students, led by 30 "Peace Envoys".

University Courses for Refugees in the Social Sciences

As a part of Humboldt University's initiative “Refugees as guest students”, the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM) offers two classes for refugees and other interested students in the social sciences on migration, space, and gender. The seminars will be held in Arabic or Farsi as well as in English.

Democratising cultural policy

The European Cultural Foundation (ECF), together with Netwerk Democratie, organised a workshop on ‘Participation in culture all right, but then what ..?’ to discuss how municipalities can successfully involve citizens in cultural policy. Diverse City: A report on the co-design workshop. European Cultural Foundation

A co-design workshop by Migrationlab, The Hague University of Applied Sciences [HHS] and ECF at Laaktheater, The Hague. As a follow up to a preparatory workshop at HHS in April and to the ‘Peace Through Culture’ citizen’s dialogue of May 10th some 40 students, academics and cultural changemakers got together in The Hague’s Laaktheater on October 12th. The purpose? To identify concrete proposals and action plans to make our professional surroundings better reflect the diversity which is a given in our public space.

Building the future on pathways to cultural diversity. Practises and projects from around the MENA region

The short project features aim to inspire further exchange and cooperation within and with the MENA region. The e-compilation “Building the Future” presents selected projects that had an impact on the cultural transformation in the MENA region in the period from 2011 to 2017. The publication is a joint co-production between long-standing like-minded partners working in and with the region. The aim of the publication is to showcase the wealth of talent and initiatives beyond MENA regional borders and share these with the international cultural community.
