SHORT DESCRIPTION

Changing Places toilets are designed to meet the needs of people with complex care needs. Changing places toilets are in addition to standard accessible toilets.

The absence of suitable toilets mean that people with complex disabilities who need assistance cannot take part in activities such as shopping, going out for a meal or attending a sporting event. Without a suitable changing bench and hoist, many people with complex needs have to be laid on unhygienic toilet floors or become trapped in their own homes.

PAMIS is a member of the Changing Places Consortium. The Consortium campaigns throughout the UK and beyond for Changing Places toilets to be provided in all public places, including city centres, shopping centres, railway stations, airports and leisure complexes.
