Inequality and climate change: how to untangle the injustice

Join

In this podcast we discuss inequality and climate change with Professor Tahseen Jafry, Director of the Centre for Climate Justice at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Tune it to untangle the triple injustice of climate change:

  • How most vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change are those who bear little responsibility for causing it;
  • How these groups are limited in their resources and capacity to cope with the effects of climate change; and
  • How this double injustice could become a triple injustice if the costs of the green transition negatively impact low-income and vulnerable groups.

Tahseen Jafry is professor and director at the Centre for Climate Justice, Glasgow Caledonian University.  Her research interests include the justice and equity aspects of climate change, gender and poverty targeting, and the management of natural resources.
