“Integrating Faith-Based Counselling into Inclusive Education: A Policy Framework for South and South-East Asia

Education systems across South and South-East Asia are becoming more inclusive, yet psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of learning often remain unaddressed.
 

This discussion invites educators, counsellors, and policymakers to explore how faith-based counselling models — particularly Christian counselling — can contribute to inclusive, holistic education.

 

Drawing on field experience from NTA Asia’s Inclusive Education Network in India, this model aligns with UNESCO’s Education 2030 Framework for Action and SDG 4 (Quality Education), emphasizing:

 

Teacher training in empathetic, trauma-informed counselling

 

Community engagement that bridges faith and equity

 

Curriculum innovation rooted in values of dignity, compassion, and collaboration
